Clusters of up to 4 upright pale yellow-green spikelets 1 to 1.75” long from May through June relax to attractive hanging tan seed heads that persist all summer, densely tufted culms with leaves up to 1’ long, tolerates periodic flooding, Butterfly caterpillar host (several species!), birds eat the seeds.
