Large Blazing Star
Spikes of pink/purple flower heads in interrupted clusters from July through October, basal leaves linear & up to 10" long, good cut flower, attracts butterflies & birds (esp. hummingbirds & goldfinches), tolerant of drought & erosion, actually prefers dry sandy/rocky soil, clump-forming.
