Hello Friends,
Our setup at this weekend's Hunterdon Land Trust Farmer's Market will be a little bit different than usual, to maximize
social distancing while still allowing you a chance to get all the plants and seeds you're looking for. So what will
this look like?
1) It's important to us to keep you safe, so we'll be doing the shopping for you, and only working with one customer at a
time. Come to the front of the tent, tell us what you want, and we'll get it ready for you to take home!
We have posted a
list of plants we're bringing to
you a chance to browse before you even come to the market! The market itself will run from 9-1 on Sunday June 28, at the Dvoor
Farm (111 Mine St.) in Flemington, NJ.
2) As much as we love discussing plants with people at our face-to-face events, this does mean that shopping will be
somewhat streamlined. Feel free to call (908-996-7500) or email us (toadshade@toadshade.com) ahead of time to chat, or
to place a pre-order! Don't forget to browse our online catalogue before Sunday -- that way, you can be prepared
when you visit the farmer's market, get everything you want without feeling rushed, and minimize face-to-face interaction as
per the CDC guidelines. We're strongly encouraging pre-orders for this one, folks (before 5 pm Friday, please; we need
time to prepare them)!
3) We'll have gloves, cleaning wipes, and hand sanitizer on-hand, and we're encouraging the use of credit cards
(better still: pay ahead of time by phone so all you have to do is pick up your plants) to minimize the exchange of cash.
We have the technology to do this safely--let's make use of it!
4) The farmer's market itself will also be set up a little bit differently than the normal spring market: we'll be in the
open-air field rather than in the carriage house, vendors will be significantly more spaced-out, and traffic flow will be
one-way (think of a buffet table: go with the flow!). There will also be hand sanitizer available both when you come in and when you leave.
So we hope to see you there, and by all means, ask us questions, catch up, place pre-orders, and feel free to shop around!
But ahead of time, please. We care about keeping you safe!
P.S. If you would rather not come out to the Farmers Market during this time we certainly understand -- but remember,
we're a Mail Order Nursery. Shipping plants and seeds is what we do! We have been shipping plants mail order for almost
28 years, and we're pretty darned good at it; we are more than happy to ship your plants and seeds to you wherever you are,
so you don't even have to leave your home.
Happy Gardening,
Your Friends from Toadshade
