Pretty white 1 inch broad flowers appear from July through August at stem tips and are followed by persistent 1 inch long thimble-like seed heads which eventually turn to loose cottony masses of seeds, deeply cut 3 inch leaves are clustered on the erect stem, pollen source for native bees.
