This very unusual flower consists of a leaf-like hood around a central column with color varying from green to maroon and a striking green with maroon stripes (depending on conditions) from April through May, one or two 3-part leaves which usually do not persist much after the flower, produces a column of bright red shiny berries in the fall, needs rich soil, good Rain garden plant.
