Clusters of pale pink flowers crowd the leaf bases from June through August and are followed by extraordinarily bright pink berries from August through winter, 2-6 inch oval leaves, a spreading multi-stemmed shrub, flowers attracts butterflies and honey bees, birds (esp. Mockingbirds) love the berries, host for the Rustic Sphinx Moth (Manduca rustica), semi-evergreen in the southern parts of its range, drought tolerant. Our seed source is from the very northern part of this species' range - growing wild in Hunterdon Co, NJ!
