Two inch clusters of 1/4 inch white flowers adorn these plants from May to July, the stout zig-zag fertile (flowering) stems bear 2 to 3 ovate glossy 3 inch clasping leaves, flowers give way to dark red mottled berries in late summer, spreads slowly by creeping rhizomes to form colonies.
