An elegant fern with fronds only simply divided, beaded looking fertile fronds appear in the fall and persist through the winter (can be used in winter flower arrangements!), grows well in average garden soil that does not dry out, spreads by creeping rhizomes, clay tolerant, good rain garden plant.
