Flat-topped clusters of 1/2 inch bright yellow flowers from April through June, each plant may bear several flowering stalks resulting in up to 100 flowers per plant, semi-evergreen narrow serrated basal leaves make a nice ground cover, flower stem leaves are smaller and finely cut, adaptable, clay and sand tolerant, attracts native bees and butterflies, host for the Gem Moth (Orthonama obstipata), important early season nectar and pollen source, tolerates both acid and alkaline soil as well as poor and/or gravelly soil.
