Clusters of deep blue 1/2 inch bell-shaped flowers rising above mounds of fernlike foliage from April through June, deeply divided leaves 4-8 inch long are quite handsome in and of themselves and will persist through the summer if moisture is sufficient, self seeds, prefers rich well-drained soil, attracts butterflies and pollinators, good rain garden plant.
