Whorled Mountainmint

A wonderfully minty fragrant plant, compact round heads full of 1/2 inch purple speckled 2-lipped white flowers from July through September, narrow leaves are opposite (not actually whorled as the common name implies), stems branch freely creating an attractive open bushy effect, spreads by seeds and short rhizomes to form colonies, can tolerate poor soils and does well in rocky soil, attractive nectar source for long and short-tongued bees as well as butterflies, good rain garden plant.
