Deep rose pink/purple flowers with large bright yellow anthers from June through October, rounded leaves turn scarlet in fall, likes sandy soil, easily tolerates acid soil, pollinated by bumble bees, one of many hosts of the Large Lace Borer (Scopula limboundata) moth.
