Odd small dark red cup-like flowers are loaded with nectar and bloom a few at a time from July through October, squared off stems bear large serrated leaves up to 7 inches long below the broad panicle of flowers, sand tolerant. Great nectar source for Hummingbirds, Butterflies and native Bees, supports beneficial insects.
