Clusters of golden yellow flowers bloom all along the upper side of arching dark stems from August through October, long narrow blue-green leaves up to 4.5", spreads slowly by short rhizomes, clay tolerant, found along woods edges, an extraordinarily graceful and pretty goldenrod, caterpillar host, some songbirds feast on the seeds, attracts butterflies, beetles, bees and other insects.
