One of our earliest flowering Goldenrods, foot-long plumes (panicles) of small bright yellow flowers attract butterflies and pollinators of all types from August to October (sometimes as early as July), smooth erect stems with 3-5 inch long leaves, spreads by seed and rhizomes (can be aggressive in moister habitats), great nectar plant, clay & sand tolerant, salt tolerant.
