Striking bright yellow 1 1/2 - 2 inch flowers from March through May, large (4-10 inch) deeply lobed blue-green leaves, a flashy flower for the woodland garden, rich soil, may go dormant in summer if it gets too dry, self seeds (if the chipmunks don't get the seed pods first!).
