Loads of white asters with yellow centers cover this heavily branched plant August through October, leaves start out large at the base of the plant but become narrow and short as they ascend the downy flowering stalks, attracts butterflies and bees, host plant for the Pearl Crescent Butterfly (Phyciodes tharos), highly salt tolerant.
