Clusters of large (2 inch) bright yellow flowers with reflexed petals from July through October, narrow leaves up to 10 inch long on sturdy winged stalks, spreads by seed and creeping rhizomes, attracts Butterflies, host plant for the Silvery Checkerspot Butterfly (Chlosyne nycteis) and the Gold Moth (Basilodes pepita).
